If your boating trip is more about having fun with your family or friends instead than looking at the horizon and contemplating your future, you need to plan some games you can enjoy on the water. We are talking about water sports, such as skiing, tubing or parasailing. You can have a go at these any time by visiting a resort. The type of fun we are talking about will fill your trip with laughter and memories that will last a lifetime.
Depending on your boat type, you can expand your game board and play until the sun goes down. So, are you ready to find out what we have in store for you?
Let’s begin:
Water Basketball
All you need to play this game in the water is a portable basketball net, which you can attach to the side of your boat. Make sure to buy one in a bright color with a strong backboard. It should be floatable so that if you accidentally drop it in the water, it does not drown. This game accessory comes alone, so don’t forget to buy a couple of mini balls.
LOB the BLOB
There are many brands that offer fantastic water games, but Airhead is known for making a boating trip very exciting. Their inflatable tubes come in various designs; from there, the company got the idea of offering more products.
LOB the BLOB is similar to cornhole, but the former can be played in the water. It has the same rules as a beer pong game but what’s different about it is that you get floating cornhole. It comes with eight blobs in two different colors so that you can have a friendly competition.
Make sure to tie the cornhole with a rope to your boat, so it does not float far away. One of the best things about this game while playing on the water is that the sun adds unpredictability. Sunlight interferes with your aim, and rough water makes it challenging to achieve a goal.
Pool Noodle Joust
If you have a large boat, such as a pontoon or yacht, you can play this game on a flat platform. However, we recommend setting the stage on the water for splashing fun. This is a 2-player game that includes a mat and two jousting noodles. Throw the mat on the water, board it with your noodles, and joust.
First one to fall off the mat loses. If you don’t know how to swim, don’t forget to wear a life jacket. Buy a floating mat at least six ft. tall and five ft. wide. If you want more room, buy four mats in these sizes and group them together.
Card Games
You can play cards anywhere, anytime. You probably have a deck in the back of your cupboard’s drawer that you never open. There are plenty of card games, from classics such as Go Fish to more complicated ones, like Poker. Make sure to look up the rules online so that someone losing does not throw the cards into the water in anger (This happens in every board game).
Let’s take a look at some other card games:
- Blackjack
- Concentration
- Casino
- Crazy Eights
- Gin Rummy
- Euchre
- Hearts
- Texas Hold ‘Em
- Rummy
- Spades
So, which one of the games seemed more exciting and fun to you? We recommend playing them if your boating trip lasts more than two days.
